Brookline is a town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts and is considered to be a  part of the Greater Boston region. The town borders six of Boston’s prominent neighborhoods including, Brighton, Allston, Fenway-Kenmore, Mission Hill, Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury. Newton, another nearby city, lies to the west of Brookline.

As of 2010, Brookline’s population was just under 60,000 people. The town was first settled in 1638 and was originally considered to be a Boston hamlet, but was later eventually incorporated as a separate town in 1705.

One particular notable Brookline resident is John F. Kennedy. The 35th President of the United States was born and raised here.
